Organisational Skills
The event was very well organised. From the outset we had several consultations and closer to the event both families were aware of the roles they had to play in order to make the day run like clockwork. Timekeeping was immaculate with that degree of flexibility that is always required at an Asian Wedding.
How did your function go?
The afternoon reception at Cobham was well received by both families and guests. Everyone loved the venue, the size, the spaciousness, the decor and the food. It rained outside but that didn't take away from the event itself. The structure held firm and the feedback we had from our guests was both confirmed that we made a good choice.
Overall the function went really smoothly and Dar was brilliant through his guidance and support no question was too small.
Overall Experience with Dream Days
My partner first noticed Cobham Hall and DD4U in the Asian Bride magazine. I emailed Dar with an initial enquiry and he was very swift and enthusiastic during our first exchange. We gave him our initial requirements and were very encouraged with the detail and range of options he came back to us with.
After working on the finer details of dates, food, cost etc... We had several consultation meetings with Dar and our families that allowed us to plan for the day and ensure all parties felt involved in the process and were happy with the final arrangements.
At the time of our booking the marquee wasn't available for viewing. So it was a real leap of faith when we booked the venue and fortunately our trust in Dar and his brand paid off.
As this was our big day and so much effort was going into the event we wanted to be absolutely certain of the choice we made in terms of event organiser and venue. We consulted other large event companies and visited their venues but the personal service and enthusiasm we received from Dar was what swung it for us. No idea was too preposterous and no request was too much effort for him.
On first reading the name Dream Days for You it sounds like bit of cliché. But its not just a fanciful name, we had a fantastic wedding day which was very well organised and enjoyed by every single one of our guests. If you want something that little bit 'Special' on your big day I would very much trust DD4U.
Comments on Cobham hall
Having picked Cobham Hall for our wedding reception both Raj and I were sure that we were making an astute choice that would cater for the needs and tastes of both our family's and guests. The venue struck us both as elegant, spaciously layed out and beautifully decorated with a beautiful view.
Marquee Experience
The pictures from the website only give you a glimpse of the beauty of the marquee. A true insight can only be gained on visiting the marquee when fully decorated and prepared. On approaching from the outside its hard to comprehend the size and elegance of the venue that lay inside. An illusion is created and it doesn't fail to impress once you enter. It definitely has that Wow factor.
Food
You don't have time to sit still long enough to eat and enjoy the food on your wedding day but the feedback from our guests was very positive. We chose a platinum caterer and it was well worth the extra money spent. The food was prepared freshly on site, it was well textured and served piping hot even after the 3rd course of starters on some tables. Portion wise no complaints. This caterer also provided some unique concepts... for example the fresh jelebi's and lassi stands went down a treat.
Guest\Family comments
The real judges on such occasions are the guests and the feedback we received from all our guests has been 110% positive. Many said it was one of the best reception venues they had attended also the service was second to none. Others said it was a unique and different concept compared to the standard sports hall or hotel.
Was it worth while hiring an Event Manager? How did it help?
The wedding industry is fast becoming highly specialised. With the size and enormity of Asian weddings it is impossible to organise and enjoy your own wedding. The event manager lifted the burden from the families and took on the responsibility that otherwise detracts them enjoying their own event.
Dar's input was invaluable. For every idea or requirement we had he gave us several options and his experience was of great benefit providing ideas and expertise beyond his standard remit. His contact list is extensive referring us to suppliers beyond the day itself.
His understanding and flexibility is commendable.
Service
The service was immaculate. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive. No one was ever idle or looking in need of instruction. Everyone was very well drilled and knew exactly what tasks they were responsible for. This was noticed by the guests and gave a very professional impression.
One final comment Dar thank you for everything, your advice and assistance was completely invaluable in making our day so much more special. We will definitely be recommending yourself and DD4U in the future.
